Where do you get the cases from? Are they trusted sources?
The virtual patients of InSimu are the result of the simulation of diseases. The simulation of diseases is based on the unique database and algorithm InSimu has created with medical experts.
The medical database includes peer-reviewed, world-renowned medical literature (e.g., UpToDate, Elsevier, McGraw Hill, Oxford University Press medical books, peer-reviewed publications). Guidelines of the diagnostic pathways advised in the app are based on international and U.S. guidelines.
Also, without the need for the completeness, two examples of guidelines used by InSimu:
- 2015 ESG Guideline for the management of infective endocarditis – The Task Force for the Management of Infective Endocarditis of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC)
- American Heart Association current guideline:
Infective endocarditis in adults: diagnosis, antimicrobial therapy, and management of complications: a scientific statement for healthcare professionals from the American Heart Association
- American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP): Clinical policy – Critical issues in the evaluation and management of emergency department patients with suspected appendicitis (2010)
- European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES): Consensus development conference 2015 – Diagnosis and management of acute appendicitis (2016)
